一點擬燈蛾(Asota caricae)是夜蛾科(Noctuidae)擬燈蛾亞科(Aganainae)的成員，廣泛分佈於印澳區。本種的前翅為褐色，各脈為白色，中室前端有一白色圓斑，故名一點，翅基為橘黃色，有數個黑點；後翅為橘黃色底，翅上約有六枚黑斑。本屬在台灣目前已記錄六種，科級地位的處理請見本網誌文章─Asota tortuosa (Moore, 1872) 扭擬燈蛾。在台灣產的Asota中，僅有榕擬燈蛾(A. ficus)與一點擬燈蛾一樣在中室前端有一個白色圓斑，但兩種可藉由翅基的斑紋輕易區別；國外產的A. producta前翅翅紋與一點擬燈蛾相同，但可藉由後翅的黑色斑紋區別，一點擬燈蛾的黑斑較少，而A. producta在靠外緣處則有一排黑點。
A Brief Introduction
Asota caricae represents one of the six Asota species in Taiwan and could be identified by the following characters: 1. a white spot near top of the cell of forewing; 2. the markings near the base of forewing; 3. the pattern and yellow ground colour of hindwing.
